On Saturday March 1st our main programmer Henning Tegen will make a one hour presentation during the Swedish Game Awards Workshop at 5:30 pm. Henning is going to give a crash courseÂ ofÂ the Quake 3 source code, the game that so many people thought Celestial Impact was built on (which it’s not!).
The theme of the evening is modding, but since the Quake 3 source code is open source there is no limitation to what you can do compared to making traditional mods for it, so Henning will go deeply technical into some of the major parts of the code to shed light on some techniques that are still used in today’s game engines.

Interesting, I’m not a coder but it’s interesting how the BSP system works since I make maps.
